Improve Your Smile With Our Durable Yet Delicate Da Vinci Veneer Treatment In Liverpool

Monday, March 17th, 2014

If you’re a fan of television makeover shows you may have come across Da Vinci veneers, one of the world’s leading and best-known veneer treatments. Da Vinci veneers were made famous by Hollywood stars, but you don’t have to be an Oscar-winning actor to showcase a beautiful smile; we offer Da Vinci veneer treatment right here in the heart of Liverpool.

About Da Vinci veneers

Da Vinci veneers are a popular treatment for people who are looking to inject a bit of glamour and sparkle into their smile. Da Vinci veneers are very thin tooth-shaped sheets of laminate porcelain, which are attached to the natural teeth to create a gleaming, flawless smile. Veneers are commonly used to treat aesthetic issues, such as chipped and discoloured teeth, gaps between the teeth and worn tooth surfaces.

What is so special about Da Vinci veneers?

Da Vinci veneers are famed for their amazing aesthetics and they are durable and strong, as well as stylish. Da Vinci veneers create beautiful, radiant smiles, which still look natural and they are more resistant to staining and discolouration than other types of veneer.

Da Vinci veneers are crafted using the latest techniques and the best quality materials at the Da Vinci laboratory in California. Each veneer is made and fitted individually.

The treatment process

Before treatment, your dentist will examine your teeth and have a chat with you about your treatment expectations to check that you are a suitable candidate for treatment and determine if this is the best option for you. Your dentist will then discuss shades and shapes with you and help you to design your new smile.

Before the veneers can be made in the USA, the teeth must be prepared; this involves removing a very thin layer of the tooth enamel to create space for the new veneers. Images and impressions of the teeth will then be taken and sent out to the laboratory, where your new veneers will be created.

Once the veneers are ready, they can be fitted and you can show off your new sparkly smile!

We Offer The Ultimate In Invisible Braces Treatment In The Very Heart Of Liverpool

Monday, March 10th, 2014

Are you searching for an invisible brace treatment? Do you long for a perfect smile but dread the prospect of wearing a brace? If so, we may just have the perfect solution: the MTM No Trace brace.

What is MTM No Trace?

MTM No Trace is a fixed brace treatment, which provides solutions for the hundreds of patients who want a straight smile without the hassle of wearing a visible orthodontic appliance. MTM No Trace works in a similar way to a traditional fixed brace, but it is placed on the back of the teeth, rather than the front. This means that the brace is completely invisible when you smile and talk.

We understand that getting braces can be a daunting prospect, especially if you are conscious of your image; with these braces, your appearance will not change when you have your braces fitted and you can feel confident throughout the duration of your treatment.

Who can benefit from MTM No Trace?

This innovative system is ideal for patients who require limited tooth movement; it is not suitable for patients who have complex orthodontic needs. These braces are designed to correct mild issues and are an ideal choice for those who are seeking to make minor improvements without having to worry about their image. This is a popular choice for those who want their smile to look beautiful for a special occasion, such as a wedding, as it works very quickly and has minimum impact on day to day life.

Benefits of MTM No Trace treatment

In addition to the fact that the braces are invisible, MTM No Trace also offers comfort, convenience and speed. Treatment time is usually between 12 and 24 weeks and the braces are light and comfortable. The process is also very simple; all you have to do one your braces are fitted is visit us for follow-up sessions and keep your braces clean.

Introducing The Perfect Clear Treatment In The Heart Of Liverpool

Saturday, March 8th, 2014

Orthodontic patients are often concerned about having treatment because of the aesthetic impact of wearing a brace; however, we are proud to offer an array of modern, innovative and discreet treatment options, including Perfect Clear. Perfect Clear is an ideal treatment for those who want an amazing smile without anyone else being able to spot their brace.

What is Perfect Clear?

Perfect Clear is a discreet orthodontic treatment system, which uses a series of specially designed K positioners to gently move the teeth. Each positioner is slightly different and the appliances are worn in a set order.

The K positioners are made from transparent plastic and they sit over the top of the teeth in a similar way to a gum shield worn for sport; they are very light and comfortable and best of all, they are virtually invisible.

Why choose Perfect Clear?

As well as amazing aesthetics, Perfect Clear also offers comfort and convenience, as you can take your positioners out to clean your teeth and eat. Often, it can be difficult to keep fixed braces clean and this increases the risk of decay and gum disease; with Perfect Clear, you simply remove the positioner and clean your teeth in the normal way.

Will Perfect Clear affect my speech?

It is common for the speech to be mildly affected for the first couple of days of treatment; however, you will soon find that your speech returns to normal once you have got used to wearing the positioners.

If you’re looking for a discreet treatment, which will create a perfect, straight smile, call us today to find out more about Perfect Clear treatment at Liverpool Dental Spa.

Broken Teeth Treatment In The City Of Liverpool

Wednesday, February 19th, 2014

Unfortunately teeth can break for many reasons including accident or injuries. At Liverpool Dental Spa, our preferred method of treating chipped or broken teeth is a little process called ‘composite bonding,’ and this is what that is…

Tell me about ‘composite bonding?’

It is a procedure that has been used within dentistry for quite some time. It basically involves the skilled, artistic use of ‘dental composite’ material, something with a consistency similar to a paste constructed from various types of resin and filler. This particular substance is used to fill in the cracks and breaks in your chosen tooth or teeth.

A typical procedure

Normally, you will only be required to make a single trip to your dentist’s. Some of the time, patients won’t even need an anaesthetic! An anaesthetic, depending on your thoughts and feelings, either will or won’t be administered and, following that, your tooth will be thoroughly cleaned with incredible precision: the composite bonding substance requires a clean surface to bond to. You will select, with the aid of your dentist, a shade of material to suite your teeth and, once selected, your tooth will be prepared with either cotton balls or a rubber band so as to keep your mouth dry. The surface will then be etched via a special gel which will help with the bonding process. The composite substance is then applied to the tooth in question and the tooth is placed under the light of a special lamp which will unlock the composite’s special qualities, helping it to set. Further composite material is supplied in smaller applications until your tooth looks as it should.

Cosmetic bonding blurs the line between science and art. Thankfully, our skilled dentists are as artful as they are knowledgeable! If you are interested in exploring cosmetic bonding, do not hesitate to contact Liverpool Dental Spa.

Improve Your Smile With Our Durable Yet Delicate Da Vinci Veneer Treatment In Liverpool

Thursday, February 6th, 2014

With a skill and craftsmanship that lives up to its artistic namesake, Da Vinci veneers have become one of America’s most trusted brands and have even featured on ABC’s program Extreme Makeover. These veneers will also blend in with your teeth for a natural bright smile.

What are dental veneers, generally?

Before we get to subtle variants, let’s explain the basic concept: Dental veneers are very thin layers of material which are applied to your teeth so as to give the impression of a perfect, uniform smile. A common analogy in the dental industry is to like veneers to false nails (except veneers are for your teeth).

What can veneers be used to treat?

Well, they pretty much cover up your natural teeth, so, in a sense, anything that can be concealed: Stains, chips, discoloration and gaps, all of these problems can be treated with veneers. In fact, the only thing they aren’t best suited for is orthodontic treatment and, in some cases, they can even be used there: In a process nicknamed ‘instant orthodontics,’ minor misalignments can be covered up just like all the other problems previously mentioned.

What is so special about Da Vinci veneers?

Well, the Da Vinci labs in California claim that: their veneers are thinner than normal ones, are highly resistant to permanent staining, have a more natural look than your standard veneer and, during the initial treatment, don’t even require an anaesthetic when being placed.

Getting them fitted

Following an initial consultation, during which you may be shown a digital preview of yourself with said veneers fitted, an appointment will be booked so you can be prepped for treatment. So as to accommodate your veneers, your teeth will be buffed so as to remove 0.5 millimetres of tooth surface. An impression of your teeth will then be taken and sent to the Da Vinci lab in California. It takes roughly two weeks for your veneers to arrive and, during that wait, you will be fitted with temporary veneers. Once they arrive, your dentist will double check their colour and fit, and, if you are satisfied, will then cement them in to place! At this stage, their colour can still be adjusted, so speak up if you aren’t happy!

Start The New Year Looking A More Youthful Looking You

Tuesday, January 28th, 2014

A new year can be as much a new beginning as it can a reminder of the years that have passed: In one annual celebration, ageing and rejuvenation align. If you’d rather spend 2014 focusing on refreshment and rebirth than ruminating on your own mortality, then perhaps a little external tinkering might clear your head of those superficial signs of ageing. At Liverpool Dental Spa we now offer Botox treatment and will be happy to help in this regard!

So, what exactly is Botox?

I’m glad you asked: despite Botox being one of the most famous cosmetic treatments available, most people don’t actually know anything about it beyond its distorted portrayals in contemporary sitcoms. Technically, Botox is a safe to use toxin which, if administered to a desired area in tiny amounts, can relax muscles. Botox can be used to treat a variety of issues, including chattering teeth and problems stemming from motor neuron disease, but, in a cosmetic context, it tends to treat facial wrinkles.

So how does Botox help your face’s appearance?

Wrinkles are caused by muscle movement. If you minimise muscle movement you less wrinkles and, as discussed before, Botox reduces muscle movement.

Will it be painful?

Some small discomfort is possible during treatment, but the needle used is very small and the amount of ache it causes should be negligible.

What does treatment entail?

Well, what it does entail is done quickly: A typical Botox administration takes roughly 10 minutes. Essentially, Botox is just injected in to a place where you desire its effects. Once administered, the effects should be noticeable after a few days and continual improvements should then continue to appear for about a month after that. The effects will sustain themselves for roughly 4 months, after that you will require a Botox top-up if you want to maintain your new look.

Will my face be paralyzed by it?

That is a myth, plain and simple: Botox minimises, it does not freeze, muscle movement. You know that extreme look of relief on your face? You’ll still be able to do that after Botox. The worst you’ll get is a little stiffness for a few days after treatment has been completed.

Introducing The MTM No Trace Braces In Central Liverpool

Tuesday, January 7th, 2014

Perfect rhymes, like ‘trace’ and ‘brace’, are hard not to notice. The name of the ‘MTM No Trace’ cleverly suggests, through rhymed association, that it is a brace system, but also, through the absence of the actual word ‘brace’, points to its most striking feature: It is practically invisible, seemingly absent.

What is the MTM No Trace?

It is an invisible, fixed brace system for patients suffering from minor orthodontic issues. They operate like conventional fixed braces, except, unlike their traditional counterparts, MTM No Trace braces are fitted on the inside of the mouth, meaning they cannot be seen.

The benefits of the No Trace brace

The most obvious benefit of the brace is cosmetic: By being attached to the back of your teeth, the No Trace brace avoids all the unfortunate associations, which a fixed brace conjures. By being fixed, however, it also avoids a common problem associated with removable, invisible aligners: They eliminate human error. Aligners can be removed for cleaning or for brief social occasions, but forgetting to put them back in can lead to dire consequences: Forgetting to put an aligner back in place can delay treatment drastically and lead to increased costs. Thankfully, as MTM No Trace braces are fixed, you need not worry about such things. To top it all off, you won’t even be not-worrying for very long: This brace system is speedy and can produce a wonderfully straight smile in between twelve and twenty four weeks.

Is this treatment suitable for all?

The MTM No Trace brace system is specifically designed for patients requiring minor orthodontic corrections and best suited to performing small movements in teeth. As a result of this, it is not appropriate for those requiring more complex or extensive dental work. Fear not, however, as, if this treatment is not best suited for your needs, we at Liverpool Dental Spa can easily recommend alternative treatments. For those only requiring minor corrections, however, the MTM No Trace brace should work a treat.

If you are interested in, or even just a little curious about, this wonderful fixed brace system, then please call us at Liverpool Dental Spa and book a consultation.

Get A More Youthful Glow With Our Facial Rejuvenation Treatments In The Heart Of Liverpool

Tuesday, December 17th, 2013

As we age, our skin loses volume and elasticity and this causes lines and wrinkles to develop; if you are looking for a facial treatment to revive your ageing skin and give you a gorgeous youthful glow, but you don’t want to commit to invasive treatment, allow is to introduce you to Sculptra.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a non-invasive anti-ageing treatment, which helps to add volume and definition to the face to create a younger aesthetic. Sculptra works to smooth the skin without the need for anaesthetic or stitches; it works by encouraging the body t produce more collagen, the fibre, which is responsible for giving the skin its firmness and structure.

As you get older the amount of collagen you have decreases and this is why the skin loses volume; by increasing collagen production, the skin becomes firmer and smoother and the visibility of lines and wrinkles is reduced significantly.

When can Sculptra be used?

Sculptra is a versatile treatment, which can be used to combat the following signs of ageing:

  • fine lines
  • deep wrinkles around the eyes, nose and mouth
  • dull, sunken and sagging skin

Sculptra can also be used to add definition to the cheeks and the jaw line to create a more attractive, distinguished look.

Why should I consider Sculptra?

If your skin is looking a little tired or you wish you looked younger and more energetic, Sculptra could be the perfect treatment for you. This is a painless, safe and effective treatment, which will make you look younger and feel more confident without having to worry about the risks of anaesthetic or going under the knife.

Sculptra can be beneficial for people who are thinking about having surgery or invasive treatment in the future, as it gives you an idea of what you can expect from treatment without having to make the commitment to permanent treatment.  Get in  touch with the team at Liverpool Dental Spa for more information in central Liverpool.

We Treat Hundreds Of Phobic Patients In The Heart Of Liverpool

Wednesday, December 11th, 2013

We understand that many patients suffer from dental anxiety and we have experience in treating patients with dental phobia. Unfortunately, when patients suffer from severe anxiety, this can prevent them from getting the treatment they need; we are here to help and we will do everything we can to make your time with us as stress-free and relaxing as possible.

One of most effective techniques for treating phobic patients in Liverpool is sedation.

About sedation

Sedation is a technique we use to make dental treatment more comfortable and less daunting for nervous patients. Sedation involves the use of sedative medication, which helps to bring the body into a state of profound relaxation. Once you have been sedated, you will not feel any pain and it is likely that you will not remember much about the procedure once you have come around. Sedation is not like general anaesthetic; you will be conscious during the procedure and you will be able to hear and speak to your dentist if you wish to.

What happens after sedation?

If you have been sedated for treatment, it will take a little while for the effects of the medication to wear off and we recommend that you come with a friend or relative so that they can accompany you home and wait with you until the effects have worn off completely. It is not advisable to drive, drink alcohol or operate machinery for at least 24 hours after sedation.

How could sedation benefit me?

If you feel very anxious when you go to the dentist, you suffer from dental phobia or you are dreading having dental treatment, sedation may be beneficial for you. Sedation helps to reduce anxiety and eliminate pain from a procedure and this can help you to feel relaxed before and during your treatment. If you would like to find out more about sedation, we will be happy to talk you through treatment and answer your questions at Liverpool Dental spa in Liverpool.

Rejuvenate Your Smile In The Heart Of Liverpool

Tuesday, November 26th, 2013

Do you long for a perfect white smile? Are you fed up of looking in the mirror to see chipped and worn teeth? If so, we could help! Our amazing veneer treatments create bright and beautiful smiles, which will boost your confidence and ensure you feel great every time you look in the mirror or pose for a photograph.

Veneers are very thin sheets of tooth-shaped ceramic, which are applied over the top of your natural teeth to produce a perfect smile. They are often likened to false nails because they sit over the top of the teeth in a similar way to a false nail on top of a natural nail.

Our veneer treatments

At Liverpool Dental Spa we offer the finest porcelain veneers to give you a flawless, natural and gleaming smile. Veneers are a very popular treatment and they can address a number of common problems, including chipped, uneven and worn teeth, spaces between the teeth and stained and discoloured teeth. The aim of veneers is to create your perfect smile; you will be invited to get involved in the design of your new smile and to choose shades and shapes to match your ideas and expectations.

The procedure

After your initial consultation when we will discuss the kind of veneers and the shades and shapes you would like, we will start the treatment process. Before the veneers can be applied to the teeth, we prepare the teeth to make space for the new veneers; this requires very minor etching, which will be done under local anaesthetic to prevent any discomfort. One the teeth have been prepared, we will use dental putty to create impressions of your teeth and these will be used as templates for your veneers. Once your veneers are ready, we will then fit them onto your teeth and secure them in place using dental adhesive; you will then be ready to flash your gorgeous new smile.
