Which route to Straight Teeth is Right for You?

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017

At Liverpool Dental Spa, we recognise the importance of giving our patients a choice and we are delighted to offer a vast array of orthodontic solutions. Whether you have minor misalignment or you need complex treatment, we have the perfect treatment options for you.

Our treatments

We offer a range of treatments, including removable braces, invisible braces, fixed braces and lingual braces.

Removable braces

Our removable braces include Invisalign, ClearStep, Perfect Clear and the Inman Aligner. ClearStep, Invisalign and Perfect Clear operate in a similar way, with patients wearing a series of customised clear aligners, which gently guide the teeth into position. The aligners are virtually invisible, so this could be a good choice if you’re looking for an invisible brace and you have minor orthodontic issues. The Inman Aligner is slightly different. The treatment process involves using a single device, rather than a series of appliances, and the aligner isn’t invisible. That said, it is a lot more discreet than most other braces out there. This is an ideal solution for anyone who needs results fast, as it takes just 16 weeks to correct minor misalignment.

Fixed braces

Fixed braces have come a very long way in a relatively short space of time, and if you thought you had to wear painful, bulky metal braces for months on end to get a gorgeous smile, you’ll be shocked to see the new braces on the block. With treatments like Six Month Smiles and CFast, we can straighten the teeth quickly and discreetly. We are also proud to offer Damon Braces. These advanced braces use the latest friction-free technology to move the teeth painlessly, and they are capable of treating patients with the most complex prescriptions. The braces are finer and more discreet than conventional fixed braces and treatment times are around 4-6 months shorter.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces may be an option worth considering if you’re desperate to have braces without anyone else knowing that you’re having treatment. Unlike standard fixed braces, these braces are fixed to the back of your teeth, which means that nobody will be able to see them when you smile. We offer a system called MTM No Trace Brace, which is a fast-acting, invisible solution for patients who have issues that affect the front teeth. The average treatment time is just 12-24 weeks.

What to Remember if Your Braces are Removable

Thursday, November 24th, 2016

Removable braces have become very popular in the last few years. Many patients prefer the convenience and flexibility of braces that you can take out. If you do have removable braces, there are some important things to remember to make sure that your treatment is a success.

Wearing your braces

When you’ve got a removable brace, the success of treatment is heavily dependent on you wearing your braces for the recommended time each and every day. With a fixed brace, a positive outcome is almost always guaranteed. If you don’t wear your removable brace, it simply won’t work. It’s your responsibility to make sure you have your braces in for the right period of time every day. Ideally you should really only take them out to clean them and when you eat and brush your teeth.

Keeping your braces clean

It’s really important to adopt good oral hygiene habits when you have a brace. Even though you won’t be wearing your brace when you eat, it is still possible for food debris and bacteria to collect in and around your braces. Make sure you clean your braces frequently. This will help to reduce the risk of decay and gum disease. If you have any questions about keeping your braces clean, our dental team will be more than happy to help!

Keeping your braces somewhere safe

You don’t want to lose your braces, or spend hours looking for them. If you take your brace out to brush your teeth or enjoy a meal, store them somewhere safe.

Wearing retainers

After you’ve had orthodontic treatment of any kind, it’s advisable to wear retainers. Retainers are customised orthodontic appliances, which hold the teeth in place and prevent movement. Wearing a retainer can help to reduce the risk of relapse.

We Offer A Range Of Removable Braces In Central Liverpool

Thursday, December 19th, 2013

If you are looking for a removable brace treatment in the heart of Liverpool, come and see us or give us a ring today! We have a wide range of orthodontic options to cater for patients with all kinds of orthodontic needs.

Our removable brace treatments

We are delighted to offer the most effective and innovative removable brace systems, including:

  • Invisalign
  • Clearstep
  • Perfect Clear

Our removable brace systems do not just give you more freedom and flexibility than fixed braces, they also ensure that you can smile with confidence during your treatment, as the braces you will be wearing are virtually invisible.

What are the advantages of removable braces?

Removable braces have many advantages; they are usually more comfortable than fixed braces, they make cleaning your teeth and maintaining good oral health easier and they also give you the option to choose when you wear your brace. Removable braces also enable you to eat without worrying about getting your lunch stuck in your braces and they are easier to keep clean than fixed braces.

It is an advantage that you have flexibility during your treatment, but it is worth noting that the success of your treatment is heavily dependent on you wearing your braces for the recommended time. There is a temptation to take the braces out, but if you don’t wear them for long enough each day, your treatment will not be as effective as it could be.

Are removable braces suitable for everyone?

Removable braces are suitable for patients with a wide range of orthodontic needs; however, they may not be the best option for patients with complex orthodontic problems and fixed braces may be recommended. Fixed braces provide greater support for the teeth during treatment and they can bring about more movement. If you are not a suitable candidate for removable braces, we will talk you through your options and help you to make the right decision.

How Do Removable Braces Work In The Heart Of Liverpool?

Thursday, November 28th, 2013

At Liverpool Implant and Aesthetic Dental Spa we pride ourselves on offering the latest and best orthodontic treatments, including a range of removable braces.

About removable braces

Most people envision train-track style fixed braces when they think about orthodontic treatment, but there are many different options available to orthodontic patients today, including removable braces. We offer Invisalign, Perfect Clear and Clearstep.

Removable braces, as the name suggests, are braces that can be taken out and put back in again; they are a great alternative to fixed braces for patients who would prefer more freedom and flexibility during the treatment process.

What are the pros and cons of removable braces?

Removable braces, like fixed braces, have both advantages and disadvantages. Removable braces are often more convenient and they give you more choice, a swell as the freedom to enjoy eating without worrying about getting food stuck in your brace or breaking your brace and the ability to clean your teeth without having to navigate your way around brackets and bands. Removable braces work very well but the success of treatment is dependent on the patient wearing their brace for the recommended period of time each day, which can be a disadvantage compared to fixed braces, which are guaranteed to succeed.

Removable braces are suitable for most patients but they may not be suitable for patients with very complex needs and fixed braces may be recommended in this case, as they provide greater support for the teeth while they are moving.

We will be happy to discuss the different options with you and make recommendations to suit your needs and preferences; some people prefer the flexibility of removable braces, while others prefer the reliability and simplicity of fixed braces.

A Fast And Effective Removable Brace Treatment In The City Of Liverpool

Wednesday, September 25th, 2013

If you have minor orthodontic problems and you are looking for a treatment that works fast and guarantees results, look no further than the Inman Aligner.

What is the Inman Aligner?

The Inman Aligner is a really impressive removable orthodontic appliance, which is designed for patients with minor orthodontic needs. The aligner is made from two important parts: a coiled spring and a metal bar; the metal bar sits at the front of the teeth and the spring lies at the back of the teeth. The spring and the bar generate forces, which effectively squeeze the teeth and cause them to move into the right position. The forces are powerful, but also very gentle and discomfort is kept to a minimum.

Who can benefit from the Inman Aligner?

The Inman Aligner is not suitable for all orthodontic patients; it is aimed at patients who have minor issues with their front teeth. If you have more complex needs, you will need a treatment, which can generate more movement and we will happily discuss treatment options with you. The Inman Aligner is often recommended for patients who have had treatment in the past and started to experience relapse; it can also be a great option for people who want to make very minor changes to the position of their front teeth in preparation for a special occasion, as it works very quickly.

How long does treatment take?

The best thing about the Inman Aligner is that it works rapidly, with most cases complete within just 16 weeks.

What are the advantages of the Inman Aligner?

Aside from the fact that the Inman Aligner is a very quick treatment, there are many other advantages. The Inman Aligner is comfortable and it uses the latest technology to reduce friction and prevent pain. Many people also prefer the freedom of a removable brace, as it enables them to eat without worrying about getting food trapped in the brackets of their brace; removable braces also make teeth cleaning easier and the actual brace is also easier to clean.

The Benefits Of Removable Braces For Patients In The Heart Of Liverpool

Saturday, July 13th, 2013

One of the most common reasons people are put off having orthodontic treatment is that they don’t want to be lumbered with a fixed brace for months on end; thankfully, we have a number of removable appliances on offer, to give patients freedom during the treatment process.

Removable brace treatments

Removable braces are very popular because lots of patients like the fact that they have the option to remove the brace, rather than being stuck with fixed braces for a long period of time. Our most popular removable braces include Invisalign, Clearstep and Perfect Clear, all of which offer extremely discreet treatment, as well as flexibility and comfort.

Invisalign, Clearstep and Perfect Clear are all invisible aligner systems, which use a series of bespoke clear plastic aligners to move the teeth; the aligners are removable but they must be worn for a minimum amount of time per day to ensure optimum results.

Benefits of removable braces

One of the most important benefits of removable braces for patients is that they are able to take their braces out to eat and drink; this means that they can eat what they like and eat and drink without worrying about damaging their brace or getting food trapped.

Braces can also be taken out to brush the teeth, which means that you can brush thoroughly without having to navigate the brush around your braces or use specially designed brushes; this promotes good oral hygiene and reduces the risk of gum disease and decay, as well as staining.

Removable braces are also much easier to keep clean than traditional fixed braces, as you can take the brace out and soak it for a short period of time or simply use a soft brush to clean it. For more information on fixed braces contact the team at Liverpool Dental Spa.

Removable braces for patients in Liverpool

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

At Liverpool Dental Spa we offer three types of removable brace, all of which are practically invisible, these are: Invisalign, Perfect Clear and Clearstep. The precise differences between these three systems are quite subtle, but they all share the same basic advantages.

Practical advantages of the treatments

One of the major problems with fixed braces is that they are fixed. Being unable to remove your brace makes cleaning difficult, thus allowing food particles to build up in hard to reach areas of your mouth. Your mouth is full of bacteria, and food particles left there will combine with said bacteria to produce plaque. If plaque is left untreated, it will begin to use sugary and starchy food particles to produce acid. This acid will then erode your teeth. The easiest way to prevent this is to stop plaque from forming, but this can be a little tricky if you can’t reach all of your mouth. Removable braces mean that you can simply take the obstacle out before a thorough clean! Eating certain foods can also be a problem with fixed braces, as certain foods can either break or get stuck in your brace. Again, by being able to remove your brace this problem is overcome.

Practically invisible

The major aesthetic complaint pertaining to fixed braces is their appearance. Somehow, and for some unknown reason, a little wire and elastic seems to conjure up images of adolescent awkwardness, something which many would prefer to avoid. Thankfully the braces available at Liverpool Dental Spa are all made of clear plastic, making them virtually invisible! Plus, if you are worried that some eagle eyed individual will be inspecting your pearly whites, you can sneakily take them off for a brief period!

Removable Braces For Patients In Liverpool: For Life On The Go

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013

If we could relive our orthodontic experiences it would be no surprise if many of us opted for the recently arrived fashionable and flexible removable braces—instead of the traditional brackets that were fitted onto many teeth. One of the amazing things is that many people still aren’t aware of such technological advances in teeth straightening such as Invisalign clear braces, ClearStep and Perfect Clear!

Removable braces

If you are unaware of what exactly these braces can do to help you, then read on. Firstly, they provide the wearer with an unparalleled level of discreetness when undergoing orthodontic treatment. We all know that there is not much worse than feeling exposed and unattractive if your mouth is full of metal braces. However, since many of the removable appliances double up as clear alternatives, you can avoid this feeling altogether.

Discreet

In addition to being discreet, removable braces are removable. They can (and should) be taken out before mealtimes, so you don’t have to worry about smiling with spinach-clogged brackets and wires. You also need not worry about any debris becoming trapped between your teeth (one of the main reasons for dental erosion during braces treatment).

Removable braces are also easier to clean. In fact, you can literally see every angle of the aligner to be sure that your device gets a thorough cleaning.

Removable braces might sound too good to be true, but they’re not! While certain cases of severe misalignment require the force of fixed metal braces, many people can benefit from removable braces. To determine which type of brace would be best for you, drop into our practice in Liverpool and we can discuss your options.

Inman Aligners For Straighter Teeth For Patients In Liverpool

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

Inman Aligners provide a quicker and cheaper teeth straightening alternative to traditional orthodontic appliances. It is an option that has taken the world by storm and results in straighter teeth in a shorter time-frame.

The system’s unique design allows for multi-directional pressure to be placed on the upper front teeth, which forces continual pressure for improved alignment. This process displays results from as early as six weeks and is more ‘purse friendly’ than traditional braces.

When determining if an Inman Aligner is right for you, you will meet with our dental team for a consultation. We will speak in great detail about your mouth, teeth, gums, bite and teeth alignment, and outline clear goals and create a plan for achieving them. After this initial meeting we take a detailed analysis of your mouth, impressions are taken and an aligner is designed to meet the specifications of your mouth.

Inman Aligners tend to work best on the upper and lower front teeth, as the device needs room to work and must be fitted to teeth with excess room around them. An overcrowded mouth is not an ideal case for an Inman Aligner.

With the Inman Aligner you can expect:

  • Speedy treatment: With noticeable results in just a matter of weeks.
  • Discreet: The Inman Aligner is a lot more discreet than traditional braces.
  • Usual oral hygiene routine: The Inman Aligner is completely removable and makes it simple to maintain good dental health.
  • To save money: Treatment costs substantially less than other orthodontic procedures.
  • Easy caring for the aligner: There is no need for messy trays or gels.

The Inman Aligner is a modern, quick and efficient method of strengthening teeth. Contact Liverpool Dental Spa in Liverpool today to get started on your journey to a straighter smile.

The Benefits Of Removable Braces For Patients In Liverpool

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

Removable braces like ClearStep, Invisalign and Perfect Clear are excellent in terms of offering patients higher level of discretion during treatment. Removable aligners are an excellent solution when it comes to the straightening of teeth, although it’s true that some of the orthodontic problems would require fixed braces to have better tooth movement. Most of the simple treatments might be carried out using a removable appliance.

Benefits

Removable aligners can be easily removed before eating. They give patients the opportunity to freely enjoy food and since the aligners are not worn during eating, debris doesn’t get stuck between the tooth and brace. This makes it easier to maintain dental hygiene and reduces the risk of decay and dental erosion. Dental hygiene is very difficult with fixed braces and because they cannot be removed even while eating, plaque is easily formed. Hence, patients with fixed braces will be required to brush their teeth after every meal; sticky and harsh food will create lot of problems.

Cleaning is easy

Removable aligners can be easily cleaned. As with the fixed braces, these do not have the hard to clean wires and brackets. You can clean them gently with a toothbrush after you soak them in glass of water for 15 minutes. A glass of water should be enough for this purpose.

Removable aligners can be removed for a photo session or when you are out for a special occasion. This way the patient will stay comfortable during their time out and will not need to stay conscious of the appearance of their mouth.

Since removable braces do not need dental glue or cement to attach them to the front area of the tooth, no marks or residue is left behind. So once the treatment is over, patients can simply remove the braces and enjoy the result of the treatment. If you would like more information on the clear aligners we offer at Liverpool Dental Spa then please contact the team today.
