What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is the name of a dermal filler that is injected in to a patient’s skin, via a very fine needle, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Dermal fillers, more generally, are simply medical substances which, quite literally, fill in areas under the skin, such as wrinkles. Juvederm mostly consists of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the muscles of many mammals (including people!). Juvederm’s use of a natural substance aids in its absorption, as well as helping it merge with other natural materials, such as collagen, which are utilised in other cosmetic practices.
What problems is Juvederm best suited for?
Juvederm is particularly god at treating smile lines around the mouth and for filling up scars, but it can also be used to: Remove smoker’s lines from your lip, help dispel wrinkles around the eyes and forehead, to plump up thinner lips and, more generally, just to add volume to a user’s skin.
How long do its effects last?
Much of this depends on the precise condition the Juvederm is treating and the texture of your skin. On average, however, the effects of Juvederm last between 6 and 9 months. If you want to continue utilising the benefits of Juvederm, however, you can always book in for another session once the effects of your initial treatment wear off.
