Which Veneers are Right for You?

Friday, July 14th, 2017

Veneers are a very popular cosmetic solution. In years gone by, veneers were associated with the A-list, but today, they’re accessible to everyone. We are delighted to offer an extensive array of veneer systems, and we are confident that we can find the perfect match for you. If you long for a flawless smile, we can make your dreams come true in just a few weeks.

What exactly are veneers?

Veneers are very fine tooth-shaped shells, which are applied to the surface of your natural teeth to create a brand new aesthetic. We can use veneers to address a host of different cosmetic imperfections, such as chipped teeth, gaps between the teeth, worn and uneven edges, staining and misshapen teeth. There are lots of different types of veneer available, including:

Lumineers: Lumineers are different to most other types of veneers because they are made from a patented ceramic material called Cerinate, rather than porcelain. This ultra-strong material allows for increased durability and longevity, yet the veneers are only as thick as contact lenses. With Lumineers, you can enjoy a stunning, natural looking smile, which should last several years. As Lumineers veneers are so thin, minimal tooth preparation is required.

Da Vinci veneers: if you’ve ever watched TV makeover shows and seen the glowing white smiles the participants show off, you’re probably familiar with Da Vinci veneers. These are the Hollywood stars of the veneer world and they are famed for their glitz and glamour. Da Vinci veneers are tried and tested, and they are highly resistant to chips and staining.

MAC veneers: MAC veneers are up to three times stronger than traditional porcelain veneers and they are coloured from within using an array of different hues, which creates a very natural aesthetic. MAC veneers last longer than other veneers because they are made from pressed ceramics. Each MAC veneer is custom-designed for the individual.

How Lumineers veneers can illuminate your smile

Monday, May 29th, 2017

Do you dream of a radiant smile that will light up the room? If you’re hoping for a sensational summer smile, Lumineers veneers could be just the ticket.

What are Lumineers and why are they so special?

Lumineers are lightweight veneers, which are made from a patented ceramic material known as Cerinate porcelain. Although Lumineers are incredibly thin and light, they are also very strong and they can usually last up to 20 years.

Veneers are a very versatile treatment and they really are capable of transforming the look of your smile. Even if you have worn, chipped or stained teeth, you can enjoy a stunning, natural looking new smile with Lumineers. Lumineers can also be used to hide gaps between the teeth and offer an alternative to braces if the teeth are slightly misaligned.

Lumineers are different to standard porcelain veneers because they are lighter, but they are also stronger. As Lumineers are so thin, minimal tooth preparation is required before the veneers are fitted, and this means that the tooth structure can be preserved. Lumineers also last longer than most other types of veneer.

How long does Lumineer treatment take?

We are usually able to complete Lumineer treatment in just 2 sessions which usually take place 2-3 weeks apart. During the first session, we’ll plan your treatment and create impressions of your teeth. We’ll also talk to you about the treatment in more detail, and of course, we’ll be happy to answer any questions. During the second session, we’ll fit your new veneers, secure them with strong dental adhesive, and show you your brand new smile.

Why You Should Choose Veneers to Transform Your Smile

Wednesday, October 26th, 2016

Veneers are designed to fit over your teeth to correct any number of problems and improve your smile. They are usually made from materials such as porcelain, ceramic or resin, mimicking the shades of real teeth for a natural appearance.

They are particularly useful in treating multiple imperfections not easily rectified by other techniques. For instance, teeth chipped in an accident or deteriorating due to decay can be made to look symmetrical and perfect again, while misshapen or peculiarly sized teeth can also be covered effectively. Gaps left by smaller teeth are another tricky problem hidden by veneers, as are holes and other irregularities in the teeth. The treatment is purely cosmetic, so if a patient with stained or crooked teeth chooses veneers, the technique conceals rather than cures the problem.

The fitting process for veneers is very quick, with an instant effect not offered by orthodontic treatments. They differ from crowns in that veneers mostly require far less tampering with the teeth underneath. The dentist will take an impression of your teeth and use this to fashion the veneers. Then the veneers are glued strongly over the affected teeth, with a light beam strengthening the bond.

The standard porcelain veneers are made from thin material that mimics the properties of regular teeth. This means that light hitting the veneers produces a similar effect to real teeth.  They are manufactured in a dental laboratory and take longer to produce than composite alternatives, but the material is stronger, difficult to stain, and can last between 10 and 15 years.

Composite veneers are made from composite resin, a tooth-coloured filling material without the same sense of depth as porcelain veneers. The treatment is cheaper and speedier to produce. Greater portions of the underlying teeth will need to be removed to accommodate the veneers than with the porcelain method.

Light Up Your Smile with Our Porcelain Veneers

Thursday, January 28th, 2016

Porcelain veneers are often entrusted with the role of creating bright and beautiful smiles and are an excellent choice for patients who are looking for that celebrity style smile. There are lots of different shapes, sizes and shades of veneers available, so we can create your dream smile, whether you are looking for all-out Hollywood glamour or a subtle, natural look.

What are veneers?

Porcelain veneers are ultra-fine sheets of laminated porcelain in the shape of natural teeth. They are positioned over your existing teeth, creating the image of a flawless smile. There is a great deal of scope with veneers and we can help you to design your perfect smil. You can choose the shade, shape and size of your veneers and each one is made to fit the contours of your natural teeth perfectly.

Veneers are not just there to look pretty, they can also be used as a means of addressing common problems such as worn, chipped and stained teeth. If your teeth are misshapen, discoloured or worn down, this can affect your self-esteem as well as your looks, and veneers can help to boost your self-esteem and ensure you feel much happier and more confident when you smile.

Veneers can also be used as part of a smile makeover, a series of treatments which, put together, aim to create the smile of a patient’s dreams.

Veneer treatment

Before your veneers are crafted, we prepare your teeth. This simple procedure involves removing a very thin layer of the tooth structure to make space for the veneers. This ensures a natural look and increases comfort. Once your teeth are ready, we create impressions, which are sent away and used by highly skilled dental technicians to make your new veneers. Once the veneers are ready, we will place them over your teeth, check that you are happy with the finished result and then secure them using strong adhesive.

Incredible Results with Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers from Liverpool dentists allow you to be proud of your smile

Having uneven, damaged or stained teeth can leave you feeling reticent about smiling.  Given that smiling is a vital social tool to put your friends and colleagues at ease when you are interacting with them, it is vital that you deal with any problems stopping you from smiling.  Porcelain veneers can be fitted over these problem teeth to give you a natural looking smile that you will want to show off.

The best thing about modern porcelain veneers is they can now be fitted with incredible speed, allowing you to get on with your life without having to worry about lengthy procedures.  The use of CEREC techniques allows porcelain veneers to be constructed in only six minutes.  These processes use the efficiency of 3D digital x-rays, the data from which is sent to an online milling machine, which constructs the new veneer ready to fit.

Your dentist is able to match the veneer to the colour of your surrounding teeth, right down to the tone and the texture.  This gives an incredibly natural look to your porcelain veneers and no-one will even know they are not your natural teeth.

Another advance in technology means that the porcelain used for these veneers is incredibly thin.  This has a number of benefits.  If the veneer is being fitted over an existing tooth, less of it will potentially have to be shaved off to fit the veneer.  In many cases nothing at all has to be removed of the existing tooth.  This means that the process can often be reversible.  As such some of these veneers have come to be known as ‘contact lenses for teeth’.

Looking for a Liverpool dentist? Liverpool Dental Spa dentists are here to help.

There is no longer any need to be ashamed of your uneven, stained or damaged teeth. Contact your Liverpool dentist today to get more information about how porcelain veneers can restore the brilliance of your smile in a quick and easy procedure that produces lasting results.
